Marta Ienco, Senior Consultant
Marta Ienco is a senior consultant in Ovum’s London Office. She is a regulatory and competition economist with broad experience across a number of industries, although she is now focusing on the telecommunications sector. Marta has excellent knowledge of the concepts and skills involved in the regulation of public utilities, as well as a strong background in the economic, technical, financial and legal analysis employed in this field. She has worked on many projects involving public policy and regulation, including telecoms regulation, cost modelling, the evaluation of the net cost and indirect benefits accrued to operators providing universal service, benchmarking and regulatory impact assessment analysis.
Prior to joining Ovum, Marta worked for Europe Economics, where she advised regulatory authorities in the UK and Europe extensively on economic and competition matters. She has also worked in the communications industry as a regulatory and competition economic expert for Italian broadband and pay-TV operator Fastweb.
Marta is regularly invited to hold seminars at the MSc course in Economics Regulation and Competition at the University of Naples, Italy.
Marta holds two MSc degrees in Economics Regulation and Competition, one from City University, London and one from the University of Naples, for which she was awarded two postgraduate scholarships, one from the Regione Campania, Italy, and another from the University of Naples Federico II.
She is a native Italian speaker and also speaks Spanish, as well as fluent English.
