Rodrigo Barreto, Principal Consultant
Rodrigo Barreto is a principal consultant at Ovum, based in London. He has over 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, with broad exposure to the Latin American and European markets. Rodrigo has expertise in both fixed and mobile telecommunications. His knowledge of service providers’ business models and understanding of technology have been used to develop commercial, strategy and regulatory consulting projects. Rodrigo has also developed a number of investment appraisal and regulatory cost models, in partnership with carriers and regulators, in the areas of broadband (fixed and mobile), next-generation networks (core and access) and service platforms (x-play environment).
He recently led a comprehensive study on the impact of NGNs in the Portuguese market, working on behalf of ANACOM. He also led an international survey with CTOs from broadband service providers, investigating the technical, economical, operational and strategic drivers for development of FTTx networks.
Rodrigo joined Ovum in 2005 after finishing his MBA. Prior to joining Ovum, Rodrigo worked for: BT as a proposition manager; Ericsson as a customer solutions consultant; and Siemens as product and solutions manager.
Rodrigo has a BSc in Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo and is an MBA graduate from Manchester Business School.
