He is an industry expert in a full array of fixed and wireless telecoms operations, encompassing strategy planning, business management and business operations management (front- and back-office operations).

CW's telecoms consulting specialities include strategy planning, competition analysis, product and service management, marketing and sales, customer acquisition and relationship management, customer service operations, network planning and operations, operations supporting systems development and management, total quality management and IT project management. CW's recent consultancy assignments in fixed and mobile telecoms operations include studies in fixed-to-mobile substitution, fixed-mobile convergence, broadband services and new developments, wireless accesses technologies, 3G value-added services, service development and pricing, and customer service developments.

CW is also a recognised industry expert in business process re-engineering, business process management and process mechanisation.

Prior to joining Ovum, CW held senior positions in both the private and public sectors, including working for HK Telecom/PCCW (as Senior VP), PCG Consulting (as Partner), VTC (as Senior Advisor), and leading international management consultancies such as ATK and BAH in Greater China.

CW has a BSc (Hons) in Electronics/Computer Science and an MSc in E-Commerce Technology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as an MBA (Distinction) from Hong Kong University and a DIC and MSc (Distinction) in Communication Engineering from Imperial College, London.
