 Dana Cooperson, Vice President, Optical Networks, Ovum RHKDana has a dual role within Ovum RHK. As VP Optical Networks she is responsible for managing and contributing to Ovum RHK's four optical networking advisory services as well as doing custom research and consulting for clients. In addition, Dana is also Practice Leader for Ovum RHK's Network Infrastructure group, which comprises broadband access, IP services infrastructure and global capex in addition to optical networks. In this role she manages and co-ordinates all Ovum RHK systems-level telecoms research. Dana brought 15 years of telecoms vendor and service provider experience to her role as industry analyst. Prior to joining RHK in 1998 and beginning her work as an industry analyst, Dana was a marketing manager for Tektronix, where she was responsible for its high-speed WDM/SONET/SDH test and measurement products. Before Tektronix, she was a product manager at Telco Systems, with responsibility for its MX3 and SONET OC-3 multiplexers. She began her telecoms career as a network engineer at NYNEX (now part of Verizon Communications), where she managed the first 100%-fiber-optic connection to a major business customer in New York City. Dana was awarded an M.S. in Management from MIT and a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University.
