Tola Sargeant, Practice Leader

Tola Sargeant is joint Practice Leader for the Geographies & Industries practice at Ovum. In this role she is responsible for Ovum's government-focused research and leads a team of analysts focused on the public sector and healthcare software and IT services markets.

Tola joined Ovum in 2002 and quickly established herself as the lead health analyst with the PublicSector@Ovum advisory service. Her areas of expertise include the UK public sector market for software and IT services and, in particular, the fast-changing healthcare IT market. In addition to closely following developments in the UK healthcare IT market, Tola's recent research has included coverage of the emerging market for telehealth services and the UK social services application market.

Tola also leads Ovum's relationship with NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH), providing bespoke market intelligence services to the agency in charge of the £12 billion National Programme for IT in the NHS (NPfIT).

During her time at Ovum, Tola has also worked on varied projects for Ovum Consulting. Typical assignments have included advising venture capitalists on potential investments in the UK IT services sector; providing advice to software and services companies hoping to break into the UK public sector market; and advising healthcare organisations on their choice of software or IT services provider.

Tola is frequently quoted in the trade and business press and has spoken at a number of conferences on IT in the UK public sector. She has an MSc in International Business from Manchester School of Management and a BSc (Hons) in Russian and Economics with International Business.
