Ovum, part of Informa, currently has an exciting opportunity in our Central London office for a Consulting Manager looking to join a world leader in telecoms, media and technology intelligence. Reporting to the Director of Consulting, Ovum IT, the successful Consulting Manager will be focused on consulting bid management and selling Ovum IT consulting expertise both within the Ovum business and into a growing range of global clients. The Consulting Manager will manage the full bid process, work with account managers and analysts to generate demand for Ovum consulting services, scope client requirements and put together proposals. This role covers all of Ovum’s clients: software and services vendors, enterprise and public sector, consultancies and professional services firms, and telco’s looking to engage with IT expertise.  

As such, we are seeking a Consulting Manager with experience of custom research, analysis and advisory project types (from webinars and whitepapers through to full strategic consulting), an understanding of the topics / technologies relevant to our clients and the ability to marry this knowledge with client needs and requirements. Experience with value-based consulting sales or project delivery across a variety of clients is essential.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting bid management – Establishing and owning a process for scoping, developing, and proposing consulting projects, making sure that the projects adhere to guidance on profit and have been appropriately resourced.
  • Consulting lead generation – Working with analysts, sales teams, and clients to drive knowledge and interest in Ovum IT consulting capabilities with existing clients and as a route to winning new clients.
  • Inside sales education – Working closely with the Ovum Sales team, training and showcasing consulting capabilities and accurately forecasting future consulting sales.
  • Project delivery – Working closely with the project delivery team to ensure that our offerings are aligned with our capabilities and client expectations.
