Roy has more than 23 years of IT experience, working for a variety of consultancy and end-user companies with experience in the defense, utilities, automotive, retail, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries. He works in the IT Solutions team and is recognized as Ovum’s expert on visualization and infrastructure management. He also has experience of cloud computing, data center technologies, and IT strategy and policy.

Roy joined Ovum in January 2006. He has worked on many major report projects including document collaboration, IT governance, SOA platforms, IT strategy and architecture, and was report captain for IT virtualization, systems management, and infrastructure management reports. He has also produced white papers and carried out primary research for leading global organizations. Roy has delivered keynote speeches at strategy briefings, strategy forums, and webinars. He is also the lead analyst in delivering virtualization and cloud computing Master Classes, and has presented at external trade events all over the world on a wide range of topics.

Roy has significant experience of supply chain, transportation, manufacturing, data warehousing, and financial systems. He has worked on a number of major projects including preparing the business case to replace an organization’s manufacturing and supply chain systems. He was appointed the supply chain and manufacturing lead IT analyst for a proposed £2.9 billion company merger, IT architect of a major RFID project, and IT project manager for a major new financial reporting and business change initiative.

He has a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, an MBA, and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET) holding the registered status of a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
