S&T has announced a large consulting project with the Macedonian Ministry of the Interior, which involves setting up a digital broadcast system for the police. The project is financed by the EU. Although the deal value is not published, S&T claims it is one of the largest consulting projects this year in Macedonia. It will consult on procurement and implementation of the system, which is to be based on TETRA standards. S&T will also provide technical support and project management.
Comment: This deal strengthens S&T's position as a key player in Central and Eastern European markets, and illustrates that it has credibility in these types of public sector projects. S&T has already won two similar projects (EU-financed consulting projects on broadcast systems for the police force) in Poland in May 2005 and May 2006, and can thus use the synergy effects.
On the basis of these deals, we believe there is a good chance that S&T will win further similar projects in other CEE countries.
